CIY (Christ In Youth) is a one week summer conference for teenagers in senior high. The conferences for high school students are held between April and July each year. FCCS youth travel each year to attend the conference to exciting places like Lee University in Cleveland, TN. On arrival boys and girls are divided into separate groups to prepare for a week of spiritual enrichment.
Each day a new powerful lesson is delivered. The mornings begin with a two and a half hour session before a break to spiritually reflect on your lesson while reading your CIY Summer Conference Student Magazine before lunch. After lunch, there is a short session and then time to relax in the afternoon. The evening concludes with a great fellowship dinner and an evening session including activities. Many attendees often cherish the evening discussions before bedtime to talk about how the day's sessions impacted them.
"Some of the sessions that were taught hit very deep for me, and I came away that week completely changed. One of the lessons was about your identity and how God can use you even if you are a child. Another lesson that really hit me hard, was called "Injured". It talked about how we deal with our pain when someone has hurt us, and how we should respond. CIY had over ten thousand kids there last year [2007], and it was amazing to be in that room when everybody was singing!
