New Mission Systems, Haiti

First Christian Church of Seminole > New Mission Systems, Haiti

Mioche and Rosie Rock, Haitian nationals, have faithfully served the people of Pignon, Haiti, for the past eleven years. Mioche received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Study and Theology and a Bachelor of Scirent degree in Pastoral Leadership Studies fro Minnesota Bible College in 2001. He received a Master of Arts in Church Planting and Church Involvement from Lincoln Christian Seminary in 2005.

Mioche and Rosie began immediately to use their skills by planting a New Testament congregation and a Christian school with classes in K through grade 5.  The school now has more than 180 students.  Mioche operates a community development ministry, as well as a radio ministry which reaches 260,000 people each day.  Plans continue to begin a second congregation in Pignon this year.

The Haitian earthquakes devastated the nation and took the lives of nearly a quarter million people, injured 300,000, and left a million people without shelter. Almost immediately the world came to Haiti’s aid sending funds, food and supplies. Months later, needs remain and so do countless people who want to help.

Not directly shaken by the earthquakes, Pignon struggles daily with losses due to the destruction. Thousands of displaced people from Port-au-Prince have relocated to Pignon; thus hospitals, churches and homes are at capacity.

The Rocks are receiving financial support from only four congregations including First Christian Church of Seminole.  Their funding since 2003 is funneled through New Mission Systems International in Fort Myers, Florida.
